With its population of more than 1.3 billion people and vast land mass of around 9.6 million square kilometers, the People’s Republic of China has a diverse range of long-lasting cultures and traditions that attract a great number of international tourists every year.
Student Weekly recently went to China and explored the capital city, Beijing.
The Weiming Lake and the Boya Tower, located at Peking University, is a popular public place for locals to do recreational activities. The Boya Tower is well known as a symbol of traditional Chinese architecture. |

Recognised as one of the Seven Wonders of the World, The Great Wall of China is a must-see attraction. The Great Wall is actually a series of walls stretching for approximately 8,851 kilometres across the country, the first of which were built around the 7th century BC. |
Like Bangkok, Beijing has sky train and subway systems to provide local commuters and tourists with fast transportation around the city. |
