Pear cookies

Hello, my name is Pear. I want to tell you about my experience. I like to cook very much. Recently, I made chocolate cookies for the first time, but when I cooked them, they burned. Next time I hope I can do it well.

Chayapa Utitbud, Bangkok

Cooking is a fun and useful skill to have, Pear. Like anything, it takes plenty of practice as well as trial and error to become really good at it. Next time you try to bake some cookies, you'll have a better idea of how long to keep them in the oven before they burn. Good luck! — Editor

HONG KONG HOLIDAY

Hi, I'm Memee and I'm 17 years old. I want to talk about my trip to Hong Kong.

I went to Hong Kong in March last year. I went to Disneyland. This place is popular in Hong Kong. I was very happy there and I played with my family. I also had dinner with my family and I bought souvenirs for my cousin and my friend.

Napasorn Rattanachaidaecha, Bangkok

It sounds like you had a fun trip with your family, Napasorn. I've never been to Hong Kong but it's definitely a place I want to visit one of these days. — Editor

SPACE RACE

In our galaxy there are many unseen objects that scientists haven’t discovered.

Astronomers found that Mars has many rivers on its surface, but they are almost entirely made of ice. The same with Pluto. Some people think that there might be peculiar creatures under the ice.

Sometimes I daydream that in 10 years time, I will take a vacation to Mars and eat some flesh of an animal from Pluto. It will be fun to know about the culture and language of those aliens that are close to Earth.

Thanawan Viriyaajchara, Bangkok

It sounds like you've got a good imagination for science fiction, Thanawan. But I'm not so sure humans will ever be taking vacations on Mars — certainly not in 10 years time. It's true that ice and water have been discovered on the red planet, but if there is any sort of life there it's likely to be microscopic, so I don't think there'd be much flesh to chew on for hungry humans. As for Pluto, more than 98 percent of its surface is nitrogen ice with traces of methane and carbon monoxide, so there's even less chance of finding tasty aliens there. But outside of our solar system, who knows? I'd be surprised if there weren't culture-loving, talkative and tasty aliens somewhere in the universe. — Editor
