Thieves steal new robes

Monks at a Nakhon Sawan temple have no new robes to wear after thieves stole donations stored at Wat Bang Plamaw in the Bang Phlat district of Bangkok.

Phra Chaicharn Piyathammo, 52, alerted police on February 24 to the theft of donated goods and 30 sets of new robes. They were taken from one of the living quarters.

Phra Chaicharn said that a novice monk was returning from collecting alms when he saw suspicious looking people getting out of a taxi near the living quarters. Shortly afterwards, the items were found to be missing.
