Illegal abortionists arrested
Three women were arrested on January 24 for allegedly operating an illegal abortion clinic near Chatuchak BTS station on Phahon Yothin Road. Police said they were acting on a tip-off from a relative of a woman who used the service at the clinic.
Illegal abortions were carried out on the second floor of the clinic, which had been registered legally by a doctor, police said.
Police and public health officials were investigating if the doctor knew whether the abortions were taking place.
Serial robbers
7-Eleven thieves caught
Two suspected thieves who robbed 7-Eleven stores have been arrested. Poonsap Chaimongkhol and Manas Dul were arrested at a restaurant in Chiang Mai’s Muang district on January 24.
Police searched their homes and found items which were used in the robberies, such as crash helmets, a pistol and a knife.
The suspects allegedly confessed they had robbed convenience stores seven times before being caught. They said that they took cash and spent most of the stolen money on online games.

Man arrested with fake goods
Raksin Arunrat, 33, was arrested for selling fake designer sportswear. Police said they found 4,000 fake items at Arunrat’s house in Bangkok. The goods were worth about 4 million baht.
