Did you know
Ter recently won the Asian New Talent Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival.
After the success of the romantic comedy blockbuster Guan Muen Ho (Hello Stranger), the two stars, Chantavit Dhanasevi (Ter), 28, and Nuangthida Sophon (Noona), 19, teamed up again for the new TV comedy series, Muad Opas Yod Meuprab...Kadee Pidsawong (Lieutenant Opas and Mysterious Cases).
In the new show, Noona plays a reporter named Bua Kwan, while Ter plays the lead part of Lieutenant Opas, reprising his character from the popular comedy Sai Lab the Series (Detective Series).
Lieutenant Opas is a policeman who relies on his sixth sense to solve crimes, while his partner Johnny (Pueak Pongsatorn) has more faith in science. As they investigate various strange happenings, Bua Kwan starts to write about their mysterious cases in the media.
Student Weekly recently met up with Ter and Noona to hear all about their new show, currently screening on Channel 9.
Student Weekly: Have your lives changed much since you became movie stars?
Noona: People greet me now wherever I go. I have more fans following my work than before.
Ter: I have more work now, especially at Korean events. Noona and I have been to South Korea several times since Hello Stranger came out.
Student Weekly: Do you ever feel bored going to Korea after so many visits?
Ter: No. I try to visit places I haven't been to before, like the south coast city Goseong. There's a great dinosaur museum there.
Noona: I still like to visit Seoul. There's a cool area called Samcheong-dong, which is full of chic coffee shops.
Student Weekly: How has it been working together again for this series?
Ter: It's been good. When an actor and actress start working together, it can take a while for them to feel comfortable with each other. But Noona and I are already close, so there's a great chemistry between us.
Noona: I feel embarrassed when I have to work with an actor that I don't know. I know Ter well, so we can work together without feeling shy.
Student Weekly: How do you feel about the characters you're playing in the series?
Noona: It's like staring a new occupation. I've had to learn what reporters do and how they interview people. It's really fun.
Ter: I have fun playing Lieutenant Opas because he's foolish and nutty. Playing a character like that allows me to come up with new ideas all the time.
Student Weekly: What's it like when you're working on the set?
Noona: It's incredibly fun. I laugh so much when Ter and Pueak joke around!
Ter: We've worked together before, so it's like having a reunion party. It's really fun.
Student Weekly: What would you like to do if you had sixth sense like Lieutenant Opas?
Noona: I'm really afraid of ghosts, so I'd do whatever I could to lose my sixth sense!
Ter: If I saw ghosts that weren't scary, I'd try to communicate with them. Talking to a ghost would be a real eye-opener. I could learn what life after death is really like.
Student Weekly: Which guest on the show has been the funniest so far?
Ter: Everybody. I was surprised to see that drama actress Pok Piyathida was so hilarious. I'd never seen that side of her before. Pop Calories Blah Blah was also really funny.
Student Weekly: Have you guys become funnier since acting in this series?
Ter: Noona tells more funny stories than before. But I want to be less funny because nobody knows when I'm trying to be serious.
Noona: Yeah, I can never tell whether or he's trying to be serious or funny!
