Street Wars

Get ready for a wild ride with '2 Fast 2 Furious'

In the 2001 film The Fast and the Furious, audiences went along for the ride of their lives in some of the fastest and hottest cars on the streets. The look inside the world of street racing showed audiences the way that speed can both addict and corrupt people. It also gave audiences a new action star Vin Diesel, who went on to star in XXX.

While Vin Diesel isn't around this time, all of the flashy cars and more are back in 2 Fast 2 Furious.

Last time we saw Brian O'Connor (Pual Walker), the hothead undercover cop, infiltrate the fly-by-night, high-speed world of Los Angeles import street racing. But O'Connor blew his own cover and let the  gane leader (Vin Diesel) of a hijacking operation walk off (or rather, drive off) in his own custom performance racer. His decision allowed him to keep his honour, but he lost his job because of it.

payback time

In the second film, O'Connor is going to get one last chance to earn back his job and play in the dangerous world of street racing. It seems the police in Miami are having a hard time catching Carter Verone (Cole Hauser), a flashy businessman using his import/export business as cover for an international money-laundering cartel. It seems that Verone is also a street racing fan.

With no other choice, the police call O'Connor to come help them out by going undercover as a street racer. But O'Connor won't do it unless he can earn back his job as a police officer in the process. Oh, and he also wants his childhood friend to be his partner. That friend, Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson), happens to be a former criminal who knows a thing or two about racing cars.

Well, if you're ready for a wild ride through the streets of Miami with guns, murderers, bad police and fast cars, then you're ready for 2 Fast 2 Furious. Check it out from August 8 at cinemas everywhere.
