Author Stephen Chbosky also directed the film of The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
Rising star Jennifer Lawrence takes the lead role in the new psychological thriller, House at the End of the Street.
Elissa (Lawrence) and her divorced mom, Sarah (Elisabeth Shue), move into a new neighbourhood in an effort to start a new life. Soon, however, they hear rumours that the nearby woods are haunted by a killer, and Elissa befriends the mysterious sole survivor of a grisly murder that took place in the house next door.
Things go smoothly at first, as Sarah finds a good job and meets a nice guy, while Elissa settles in at school and finds herself drawn to the boy next door, Ryan (Max Thieriot). The misunderstood and passionate Ryan seems like a kindred spirit, and Elissa sympathises with his situation, as the town has shunned him since his deranged sister Carrie Anne (Eva Link) murdered their parents years before.
But as Ryan and Elissa spend more time together, more details of the past start to emerge. As she finds out the truth, Elissa’s happy new life gradually becomes a nightmare.
Catch the horror and drama when House at the End of the Street hits cinemas on November 8.
