The Sirindhorn Museum in Sahatsakan district, Kalasin province is great for students interested in archeology, astronomy and ancient history. The museum consists of eight zones, most of which are related to extinct species, planets and the origins of humankind.

Student Weekly recently went along to explore this unique museum.

A life-sized replica of a Siamotyrannus Isanensis dinosaur stands in front of the entrance to the display area. The dinosaur belongs to the Tyrannosauroidea species, whose remains were first found in Khon kaen in 1993.

This information board chronologically describes the development of animal life between 542 and 65 million years ago.

This glass cabinet shows fossils of exoskeletons that date from the Early Cambrian period, which started around 542 million years ago. Archeologists also refer to this period as the "biological big bang" because of the great diversity of life that developed during that time.

These bones of a kinnareemimus dinosaur were found in Khon Kaen province. The kinnareemimus was named after a Thai mythological creature called the kinaree.

These glass boxes contain various fossils. The inset shows a fossil of a tree leave.
