Dan, a former member of the popular boy band D2B, is back with his latest release, The Story Teller.
Since he stopped being a boy band pop idol, Dan has been busy singing and writing hit songs for many film and soap opera soundtracks. The Story Teller is a collection of some of the music Dan has created for those projects, along with two brand new songs.
Most of the songs were written by Dan, and with this collection, listeners can get a good sense of the singer’s signature style of music making and use of language. The songs are all pop ballads with nice arrangements featuring piano and guitar.
The two new songs featured were written by Dan when he was living in England. “Nung Sun (Shot Film)” is a sad song with a fairly dark atmosphere created with the guitar and vocal melody. “Rung Lao Ngao Ngao (Lonely Story),” on the other hand, is more upbeat and easy-listening, with a nice melody and lyrics typical of Dan’s biggest hits.
For fans of Dan and modern Thai pop ballads in general, The Story Teller is an album that can’t be faulted. — VH
