Did you know
Min Hyuk appeared in the 2013 short film The Miracle.
With his good looks and skilful drumming, CN Blue’s Kang Min Hyuk attracts a lot of fans even though he stays at the back of the band. To allow Thai fans to get to know him better, the 24-year-old drummer held his first solo fan meeting in Thailand on July 25.
SOFT SIDE
At BCC Hall Central Plaza Ladprao, Min Hyuk opened the event by playing keyboards and singing Ra.D’s ballad, “I’m in Love.” Next was an interview, where the Thai CN Blue fans, or Boice, learned that the cool drummer loves flower arranging, cooking and cats. Some lucky fans competed to get close with Min Hyuk and play a shooting game with him.
HIGH FIVE
At the end of the meeting, Min Hyuk thanked his fans for creating a special video and cards for him. The modest drummer said he worked very hard for the event and apologized for any mistakes that might have happened. Min Hyuk said that it was only because of CN Blue, Boice and everybody who loved him that he could reach this point. Before going home, every fan got to high five with Min Hyuk. His mom who came to support him also high-fived her son which added to the warm atmosphere.
A day before the fan meeting, Student Weekly and other media met up with Min Hyuk at a press conference. Here are some highlights of the interview.
Question: How do you feel about solo fan meetings?
Min Hyuk: When the MC calls my name, I hear CN Blue’s song and think about the other band members. I’m only able to stand here because of everybody who loves CN Blue. I guarantee that I’ll come back with the band soon.
Question: What has been the most unforgettable moment in your life so far?
Min Hyuk: CN Blue’s debut showcase was in January 2010. We were standing behind the curtain waiting to go on. My heart was beating very fast. That was an unforgettable moment.
Question: How does living by yourself compare to living with your band mates?
Min Hyuk: When we lived together, it was easy to do activities like going out or seeing a movie together. After living separately for a while, it’s difficult to meet one another.
Question: You like to post pictures of food on social networks. Do you enjoy cooking?
Min Hyuk: I like posting new dishes on social networks, and a lot of people follow me. That may make it look like I’m good at cooking. It’s fun to try cooking a new dish, but if the dish is delicious, I feel sorry that I don’t have anybody to share it with.
Question: What’s your best dish?
Min Hyuk: I’m confident about cooking traditional Korean soybean paste soup. It’s spicy and delicious.
Question: How are you different from your character Yoon Chan Yeong in the TV series, The Heirs?
Min Hyuk: I’m not really sure. I’m probably a gentleman like him.
Question: How would you handle a girlfriend if she behaved like Lee Bo Na did in The Heirs?
Min Hyuk: I wouldn’t have a problem if she sulked like Lee Bo Na, but if she was spoilt, I would be exhausted. However, if I really love a girl, I will do whatever she likes. And it doesn’t matter whether a girl is beautiful or not. If I love her whatever she does, she is beautiful to me.
