Did you know

G-Dragon collaborated with rapper Missy Elliott on his upcoming single.

Kwon Ji Yong, better known by his stage name G-Dragon, stands out from other K-pop sensations with his talents for singing, composing and producing music, not to mention his innovative fashion sense.

The Big Bang leader has achieved overwhelming success with solo work since the release of his debut album, Heartbreaker, in 2009. G-Dragon’s live performances have also been highly acclaimed.

At his recent concerts at Bangkok’s Impact Arena to promote his latest album One of a Kind, the 24-year-old singer had a world-class production team that has worked with Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga. The performance was so breathtaking that the K-pop fans in the audience didn’t want to the show to end.

DRAGON DRIVE

At the concert, G-Dragon’s V.I.P fan club screamed loudly when a video was shown of the star driving a white sports car. A crystal racing car then appeared on the stage, and G-Dragon stepped out of the car while singing the hot dance song, “Michi Go.” Fans waved their yellow crown-shaped lights along with the song. G-Dragon kept up the heat by launching into the chat-topping hits “Heartbreaker” and “One of a Kind.”

HIGH POINT

During “Light It Up,” the crowd was amazed when G-Dragon introduced to the stage handsome rapper Tablo from Epik High. Tablo walked into the hall while rapping his part in “Light It Up,” however, when he got closer, Tablo turned to be a projection on a moving screen. This awesome illusion combined with the great sound system made it seem like Tablo was really there.

BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY

After a string of non-stop dance songs, everybody was ready for some soothing ballads like “Butterfly,” “Missing You” and “That XX.” During “Butterfly,” G-Dragon sat on an impressive set which looked like a big rock in a green field. At the end of the song, giant artificial butterflies flew around the stage and toward the crowd.

When G-Dragon sang “Missing You,” fans held up a sign that said, “G-Dragon, Missing You.” The singer noticed the sign and smiled happily at the fans.

SCREAM TEAMS

The charismatic singer said in Thai that he missed his fans, causing a lot of screaming in the crowd. He then divided the crowd into two sides so that they could compete in a screaming contest. He called fans on the left side “baby,” while the fans on the right were “honey.” Needless to say, the female fans couldn’t stop screaming wildly when he called them like they were his sweethearts.

BIG BANG BROTHER

G-Dragon took a break as the youngest member of Big Bang, Seungri, showed up onstage as a special guest. Seungri was playful as he said some Thai phrases to the crowd. He then sang his solo singles “Strong Baby” and “What Can I Do.”

EMOTIONAL MOMENT

G-Dragon then returned to stage to sing the heartbreaking songs “Obsession” and “She’s Gone.” The star did a good job of expressing his pain through his emotive singing and intense rapping. After that, he wrapped up the show by singing the fun songs “Crayon” and “Fantastic Baby.”

FUN FAREWELL

The energetic V.I.P went crazy when G-Dragon reappeared for the encore to sing “Breathe.” During a beautiful version of “Bad Boy,” Seungri came back to sing with the leader, and the fans sang along with them loudly. The last song of the night was “Michi Go.”

G-Dragon then rode a scooter around the stage to say goodbye to his fans throughout the hall. He also said that he’ll be returning to Bangkok soon with Big Bang, making the fans happy at the end of the show.
