La Ong Fong turn Japanese
La Ong Fong
Feel Romance Nagasaki
Spicy Disc
Local trio La Ong Fong are back with a new five-track EP called Feel Romance Nagasaki. As the title indicates, the EP is full of exotic influences from Japan. La Ong Fong have been acting as ambassadors for the city of Nagasaki in Japan, and their hit song “Arai (What)” managed to make it onto the Japanese pop radio chart.
Feel Romance Nagasaki features two new songs, plus Japanese language versions of three of the group’s previous popular hits.
The first new song, “Kid (Miss),” is a medium-tempo pop tune with words about love and a nice, positive feel. The song makes great use of lead singer On’s unique voice. The other new song, “Luem Dai Laew (Remind),” is a slow, sad song with a sweet melody and nice lyrics. Bassist Aeh sings this track. The older songs featured on this release sound great sung in Japanese.
The CD also comes with a nice photo book and a film that was made in Nagasaki. Overall, Feel Romance Nagasaki should definitely make La Ong Fong’s fans very happy. — VH
