Battleship was first produced as a board game in 1967.

Based on the popular children’s game of the same name, Battleship is a science fiction naval war film directed by Hancock director Peter Berg. The film’s large cast includes Liam Neeson and Taylor Kitsch, as well as pop star Rihanna, who makes her big screen debut.

Near the Hawaiian Islands, an international naval fleet suddenly finds themselves up against a powerful alien species known as The Regents.

The Regents have apparently come to Earth with plans to build some sort of power source in the Pacific Ocean. When the navy fleet encounters the alien forces, what ensues is no less than a battle that will determine the fate of humankind and the planet itself.

Don’t miss the action when Battleship hits local cinemas on April 12.
