Family flees world destruction
Based on predictions that have been interpreted from an ancient calendar created by the Maya people of Central America, 2012 is an exciting new disaster movie about the end of the world. The film was directed by Independence Day director Roland Emmerich.
Jackson Curtis (John Cusack) is a writer whose dedication to his work has led to the break-up of his marriage with Kate (Amanda Peet). However, Jackson remains a loyal father to their children and is still on friendly terms with his ex.

When Los Angeles is suddenly destroyed by a shift in the earth's plates, Jackson and his family begin a desperate journey to escape disaster and to survive long enough to see the new world.
Meanwhile, world leaders have come to learn of the impending global destruction. Headed by US President Thomas Wilson (Danny Glover), the leaders work on a plan to save a small portion of the human race so that civilisation might have a chance to survive and build a new world.
