Past Forward is a special 10-track compilation album from Spicydisc that assembles some of the legendary local pop songs that are still strong in the hearts and minds of many people. The songs chosen have been rearranged into styles that suit the various artists featured.

“Ror Rak (Waiting for Love)” is transformed by Sqweez Animal into a modern pop song with a standout rhythm and great guitar sound. Popular disco band Groove Riders perform a version of the melodic “Kao Jai (Understand),” which highlights some great singing.

Another high point on this collection is the track “Fun Lum Eang (Biased Dream),” performed by La Ong Fong, with interesting singing turning it into a perfect romantic love song.

Other performers featured on this album include Stamp, Monotone, Lullaby and Boy Trai. Also worth mentioning is the cover art, where each performer imitates classic album covers from iconic artists like The Beatles, The Doors, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and The Supremes. The package also comes with a bonus karaoke CD.

Overall, this collection should please listeners who love sweet and romantic Thai pop songs. — VH
