Located in Lampang, Pa Miang is a perfect place for eco-tourism enthusiasts and nature lovers who want to explore scenic areas full of atmospheric fog, beautiful waterfalls, comfortable weather and plentiful natural resources.

For Freeze Frame this week, SW explores some popular tourist attractions and local products in Pa Miang and surrounded areas.

The most beautiful views in Pa Miang can be seen from Kiw Fin, also known as Opium Peak, which is the highest point of Mount Phu Pha Jor. The mountain is only 4 kilometres from Pa Miang.

Chae Son Waterfall is a famous tourist destination in Lampang. The fast-moving waterway is also used to generate electricity.

Visitors to Pa Miang can learn about how villagers grow and dry Arabica coffee beans.

About 14 kilometres from central Pa Miang is the Chae Son Natinal Park, which is famed for its hot springs.

One of Pa Miang’s OTOP products is pillows, the filing of which is made of dried tea leaves. The pillows are believed to help sleepers to relax and to improve their breathing.

The streets of Pa Miang are enhanced with pink blossoms of Himalayan cherry trees.

Pa Miang villagers soften steamed tea leaves, which will be packed in plastic bags and sent to markets in downtown Lampang. This product, called miang, provides a good source of income for many locals.

In February each year, visitors to Pa Miang can experience the charm of Bauhinia flowers.
