The video for “Greeting” features Ngern Anupart from Love Sick the Series.
After winning over both the judges and audience alike during the second season of The Voice Kids Thailand last year, singer Pornsawan Yanvaro (Bungkee) became a young pop star with the release of her debut single, “Kum Tak-tai (Greeting).”
“Greeting” is a sweet acoustic pop ballad that showcases the 14-year-old singer’s musical skills and cheerful personality.
Bungkee can sing in many different styles and has a diverse taste in music, enjoying everything from pop to soulful ballads, funk and indie rock.
Student Weekly recently caught up with Bungkee to ask the talented young singer about some of the albums that have influenced her singing style.
Various Artists
Love Gallery (2013, GMM Grammy)
“This is a compilation album that I bought myself. I was looking for some of my favourite tunes by different singers, and Love Gallery has them all. I love most of the tracks on this album, especially Sumet and Punk’s “Wannee Chan Mee Ther (Today I Got You).” This album was definitely worth the money!”
Rose Sirintip
Forever Love Hits (2013, GMM Grammy)
“My dad bought this album for me because I was supposed to sing a cover of one of Rose’s songs during the Voice Kids competition. I know most of her songs very well, because Rose is one of my favourite female singers. I think my singing voice is similar to hers.
“This album includes many of Rose’s well known love songs. “Mark Kwa Rak (More Than Love)” is one of the first songs that I learned to sing.”
Singto Numchoke
Lucky (2014, Believe Records)
“I didn’t know much about Singto when I got this album, but I thought the album cover looked pretty cool when I saw it in a CD shop. I decided to give it a try and I really like it.
“Singto’s quirky style of pop is new to my ears. Many of the songs on this album are interesting, but my favourite track is “We-tee Chai (How To),” which also features my favourite singer, Stamp.”
Greasy Café
The Journey Without Maps (2012, Smallroom)
“Greasy Café plays indie rock and acoustic ballads. “Sing Lao Nee (These Things)” was the first song of his that I heard and I loved it right away. I think he has a unique voice. He can sing sad songs very well. I really like this album, and I’m looking forward to hearing more of his music.”
Punch
Punch Best Collection (2013, GMM Grammy)
“I’m a huge fan of the TV drama, Rak Sud Rit, which aired last year. It starred James Jirayu and Punch Worakarn Rojjanawat. I never missed an episode! [Laughs.]
“Punch sang “Mai Yoo Nai Sai-ta (Never in Sight)” for the soundtrack of the series. I couldn’t find that song on any of her albums, but I later found out that it was included on her Best Collection album, so I had to get it.”
