Phuket plans landmark
A British firm plans to build the world’s tallest Ferris wheel on an old mining site within the next two years, officials said on March 30. The project to be developed by Thai Business Development Co. aims to create a new landmark for the province.
The goal is to beat the 165-metre-tall Singapore Flyer which opened in 2008 and the High Roller wheel in Las Vegas, which stands at 167.6 metres tall and opened in 2014.

The cabinet has authorised the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) to mobilise 150.3 billion baht through a public-private partnership scheme to develop the Yellow and Pink elevated mass transit lines, authorities said on March 29.
The 34.5km Pink Line which will stretch from Khae Rai to Min Buri will require an investment of 53.49 billion baht while the 30.4km Yellow Line from Lat Prao to Samrong will need 51.81 billion baht.
