Bebe and friends get creative

Beba, Gina, and Dew

With frequent appearances on TV shows, in teen magazines and in commercials, 19-year-old Tanchanok Rithnaka (Bebe) is one of the most familiar faces in showbiz. She began amassing a legion of devoted fans when she hit the music scene with the band Buzz Music two years ago.

• Did you know •
In addition to ballet, Bebe has studied jazz and flamenco dancing.

Though the group called it quits and went their separate ways, Bebe hasnt yet come to the end of her musical road. Not long ago she teamed up with up-and-coming singer Wijittra Aussaneewutthikorn (Kookkik), 26, and the members of the new band Sugar n Spice Karat Roonpraphun (Gina), 20, and Arisara Thongborisut (Dew), 17. The result of that team-up is the new record Buzz Music 2nd, a sugar-pop album full of radio-friendly tunes.

Bebe, Gina and Dew recently sat down with Student Weekly for a light-hearted chat. We asked them some slightly off the wall questions, and they gave us some good-natured, tongue-in-cheek answers.

>> Student Weekly: Which would you choose an trip through Jurassic Park or an adventure with Indiana Jones?

<< Bebe: Jurassic Park. I dont know what Id do with the treasure. Id like to see what dinosaurs look like, though.

<< Gina: Indiana Jones. Digging for treasure would be a lot more fun than seeing giant dinosaurs. You might run into a T. rex.

<< Dew: Id go with Gina and share the treasure with her.

>> Student Weekly: If you were stuck on a desert island and could only bring three things with you, what would they be?

<< Bebe: First, Id have to have a flashlight. Another thing would be dried food. The last one would be Doraemon. He could give me anything I needed.

<< Gina: It would be fun to be left on an island. You could have a peaceful retreat in your own world. Id bring my favourite book, bars of chocolate and my first teddy bear. I cant sleep without him.

<< Dew: Id bring three friends so that Id have nine items to help me survive.

>> Student Weekly: What would you do if you came face to face with a fierce, wild bear?

<< Bebe: Make friends with him and ask him to take a photo with me.

<< Gina: Run away. I dont wanna die.

<< Dew: Smile, stay still, hold my breath and pretend to be dead.

>> Student Weekly: If you were Aladdin, what three wishes would you ask from the Genie?

<< Dew: First, Id ask him to make our album sell like hotcakes. Then Id ask him to make everyone I know happy. The last wish would be to have unlimited wishes.

<< Bebe: First, I want a sari. Second, Id like him to show me around his city. Third, Id want Genies magic lamp so that I could see him anytime.

<< Gina: Id ask him to turn me into Jasmine. Id love to be in that cartoon. My second wish would be bars of Royce, the Japanese chocolate. Last, like Dew, Id ask him to boost the sales of our album.

>> Student Weekly: Which do you prefer doing yoga or going to a spa?

<< Bebe: Yoga, definitely. You learn yoga once, and you can practise it at home anytime you want. Going to a spa is just temporary relaxation. More importantly, it sets you back a lot of money.

<< Gina: Id pick the spa. Im lazy. I dont like to work out. Going to the spa sounds cool.

<< Dew: Like Gina, I love the spa. I wanna get aromatherapy.

>> Student Weekly: What would your life be like if there was no Internet?

<< Dew: Id rather die. I cant live without the Net. Im addicted to MSN. I go online every day, even if I dont chat.

<< Gina: Nothing would happen. It wouldnt cause me any trouble. The Internet isnt that necessary for me. Im more into books.

<< Bebe: Id buy a pigeon to send my messages.

>> Student Weekly: What were you guys like when you were 10 years old?

<< Bebe: I was busy. I never had free time back then. I went to school on the weekdays and learned ballet on the weekends. Ive practised ballet since I was 3 years old.

<< Gina: I was a fat girl living in Australia.

<< Dew: I spent almost every day glued to the TV. My favourite show was the Pung Noi Show. I did what Pung Noi did. Id ask my maid to buy lad na for me so that I could eat it in front of the TV while I watched Pung Noi eat his lad na.

>> Student Weekly: What will you be like when youre 60?

<< Bebe: I want to be a hip old woman wearing a bikini. Im not confident enough to wear one now. I dont think anyone will know me when Im 60. Maybe people will be like, Look at that grandma. Shes so cool.

<< Gina: Ill be at home with piles of books.

<< Dew: Ill still be acting like Im a 35-year-old.
