Did you know

Last year, Nichkhun acted in the Japanese TV series, Ouran High School Host Club.

Thai pop sensation Nichkhun Horvejkul has a hectic schedule. His group 2PM are in demand throughout Asia, and the 23-year-old singer recently expanded into the field of acting with his role in the new GTH movie, Rak Jed Pee Dee Jed Hon (Seven Something).

Seven Something features three separate stories, interestingly titled 14, 21/28 and 42.195. Nichkhun stars in 42.195, where he plays a long-distance runner who tries to convince a newscaster, played by real-life newsreader Sukwan Bulakul, to take part in a marathon.

Nichkhun recently flew from Seoul to Bangkok to chat to the Thai press about his experience acting in his first Thai film.

Question: How did you get involved in Seven Something?

Nichkhun: I’ve been a big fan of GTH films ever since the movie Shutter came out. So when they asked me if I wanted to work on this film, I was glad to accept. I decided to take the part as soon as I found out that filmmaker Jira Maligool would be directing the 42.195 part.

Question: Did you find it difficult working on your first film?

Nichkhun: It was extremely stressful because I didn’t want to disappoint the director. During the first day of filming, I was trying too hard. The director told me to stop trying to act and to just be myself.

Question: What did you learn from playing the part of a marathon runner?

Nichkhun: I don’t normally like running. But for this film, I was trained by a professional coach and I discovered the attraction of this kind of sport.

Question: What are your general impressions of the film?

Nichkhun: I was impressed when I first read the script. It’s not a typical romantic comedy. It’s a film that can inspire viewers who are feeling down. It shows that if you’re open to new things, your life can become much better.

Question: What was it like working with Sukwan Bulakul and DJ Opal Panisara?

Nichkhun: Sukwan is really professional. I couldn’t believe that she’d never acted before. And Opal is hilarious!

Question: What did you learn from working on this movie?

Nichkhun: I found out that I like acting and would like to be good at it. Seven Something is an interesting movie. I hope that everybody enjoys it!
