This week's entertainment topics are...

Riding the Hot Wave
When Hot Wave announced its last music competition, more than 365 student bands sent in their demo tapes for a chance to become the next Hot Wave Music Award winner. Out of the hundreds of wannabe music stars, only 10 bands were chosen to compete.

Film Preview : Retro love story
Movie styles often change as the years go by. Keeping up with the latest trends can be difficult for filmmakers. But designing and making a movie look like it was produced nearly ten years ago is also a big challenge.

TV review : It's show time
Adorable, fabulous and dazzling are the slogans for the Nang Show (Showgirl). And parts of the show are exactly what it says it is.  That's because it is produced by Warayut Milintachinda, who is well known for making soaps with spectacular settings and costumes.

CD REVIEW : Kazzer
If I was still a 15-year-old kid, Kazzer would be my new favourite artist. Sure he's just another of the thousands of nu-metal rap bands around today, but Kazzer just seems so much more naturally cool than the rest.

Gossip : Worst movie ever made?
Halle Berry must be laughing. The Oscar-winning actress stepped down from acting in the romantic comedy Gigli in 2001 with Jennifer Lopez stepping into her shoes as the leading lady. Now, the movie is being slated as one of the worst movies ever made.

BOOk review : Fight for life
Lian Hearn's debut novel Across the Nightingale Floor is about life in feudal Japan. When Takeo was 16, his family and fellow villagers were murdered by a local warlord. Lord Otori Shigeru, a rival warlord, rescued Takeo.

Peachy pair
If you have never heard the song "Warn (Begging)," it means you must live without a radio, TV and even avoid shopping or having meals in places that play records. "Warn" is a big hit single from a new duo that call themselves The Peach Band and is played many times each day on all types of media.

On screen : Movies and DVDs coming your way
Drama/Comedy: PEOPLE I KNOW (August 15, 2003) Hollywood veteran Al Pacino plays a mover-and-shaker who is at the end of his tether and his career. Things turn even worse when he gets involved with a secret drugs den and witnesses an event that will change his life forever. What event? Go see the movie to find out, dummy.
