Sierra�s Ground Control II: Operation Exodus is a
real-time strategy (RTS) game, but streamlined, losing most of the finicky
management tasks and concentrating on organising troops and units in the thick
of battle.
Adding to the intensity of it all, you�ll need a �line of
site� to know what the enemy is up to, so troop placement around controlled
areas is critical. Ground Control II also uses control points, which, if
you take them, will bring reinforcements via ship rather than making you wait
for them to plod along your trail or have you fall back to safer ground and
recover (or fail).
Old-school, 2-D fighting doesn�t really have a place on the
new-generation PlayStation 2 console � unless you put two of the very best
examples on one disc and sell it for virtually nothing.
