Mother teaches child to steal

A woman was arrested for allegedly teaching her 5-year-old daughter to steal in the Sampheng area of Bangkok. Police on November 3 detained Nutra Pudrung, 32, after recognising her from CCTV images taken last month.

Police said that on October 8, Nutra told her 5-year-old daughter to grab an iPhone that had been left unattended inside a shop. A CCTV camera captured the alleged theft and the court issued a warrant for the woman’s arrest.

Police said the mother admitted that she and her daughter had committed three thefts in Sampheng market.

Shop owners break rules

The owners of three internet shops in Din Daeng district were arrested for allegedly allowing children under 15 to use their services after 8 pm.

Metropolitan Police official Manit Wongsomboon led a team of 50 officers to inspect more than 30 internet and online gaming shops on Pracha Songkhro road on the night of November 3.

If found guilty, the shop owners face up to three-months in prison and a fine of 30,000 baht.

Freak storm hits Chiang Rai

A powerful storm hit the north of Thailand. It happened in Chiang Rai province. More than 100 houses in Phan district were damaged. Authorities inspected the damage on the morning of November 4.
