University Tips is here to help you prepare for the English exams and tests that are coming your way. It gives you practise answering questions similar to those you may have at school and also on the university entrance examination.

Walk in the woods

Travellers looking for a nature retreat near Bangkok can go to Sap Lanka, a wildlife sanctuary in the Lam Sonthi district of Lop Buri. It is the last remaining area of forest in the province that is great for trekking and has many wild plants and flowers.

The Sonthi River provides water for the area. The hilly terrain is covered in lush vegetation and rises 140-846 metres above sea level. The 248,987-rai sanctuary has two trekking routes that are open to the public.

The first route, the Huai Prik Stream-Pha Phueng Waterfall route, is 3,200 metres long and includes a waterfall and a cave.

The second route follows Huai Pradoo Stream. You can visit the Phra Nok and Samui Kui caves on foot or by raft. It is also possible to take a farmer�s motorised cart to enjoy the natural scenery.

To get there, take Highway 1 via Saraburi and move on to Highway 21 (Saraburi-Chai Badan). Turn right to Chai Badan and take the 205 (Chai Badan-Lam Sonthi). Two kilometres before Lam Sonthi, turn left into Tambon Wang Chuem. From there it is 37 kilometres to the sanctuary.
