A PENNY SAVEDI think everybody would agree that money is important. If we don't save, some day we won't have any money. I save money on a regular basis at the Government Savings Bank. In addition, every month, at my school there is “Saving Day.” It's an activity that allows students to deposit money. Students who deposit 50 baht or more will receive a lovely gift from the Government Savings Bank. Saving money is important. We should have something saved for times of need and the future. Anchan Chaopa, It sounds like you're developing some good habits regarding fiscal responsibility, Anchan. If you get into a pattern of saving now, it will definitely be a habit that will benefit you in the future. You never know when you'll need a little money socked away, and you'll sure be glad it's there, whether you need it or not. — Editor |
SPLASH SAFETY
I'm so glad that Songkran is finally here. I think that it is my favourite holiday.
I love to go out with my friends to splash water. We stay out all day, standing by the side of the road. We splash the people who pass by in trucks and cars.
We try not to splash water on people who are riding motorcycles. If we do splash them, we do it very gently so that we do not cause them to crash.
Songkran is very fun, but it can also be dangerous. I hope that everybody stays safe this Songkran.
Montien Nimsawad,
Bangkok
Sonkran can be a lot of fun, Montien. I think it's one of those things that's more fun when you're younger than when you get old, like me. I can usually do one day of water splashing, and that's about it. Even if you're not in a car, remember to be careful while you're having fun. There are a lot of crazy people driving around out there. Happy New Year. — Editor
HORSES AND KITES
My nickname is Bas. I like to go to Lampang to see the horses. There are a lot of horses there.
I've ridden a horse before. It was very big. I like to watch the horses eat grass.
Each day in Lampang, I go out to fly my kite. I play in the garden near my home. Sometimes I play football with my boyfriend.
Kritsana Kronkaew,
Lampang
That all sounds like a lot of fun, Bas. I haven't ridden a horse in years. I enjoy riding, but I think I'd probably benefit from a few lessons. I tend to let the horse do whatever it wants to, which isn't a good idea. Anyway, have fun. — Editor
