Directed by Scott Waugh, Need for Speed is an exciting new action film inspired by the classic car-culture thrillers of the 1960s and ’70s.

Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul) is a mechanic who races cars on the side in underground street races. Struggling to keep his family-owned garage afloat, Tobey reluctantly partners with the wealthy and arrogant driver Dino Brewster (Dominic Cooper). But just as a major sale to car broker Julia Bonet (Imogen Poots) looks like it will save Tobey’s shop, a disastrous race allows Dino to frame Tobey for a crime he didn’t commit, sending Tobey to prison while Dino expands his business out west.

Two years later, Tobey is released and set on revenge, but he knows his only chance is to defeat Dino in the high-stakes race known as De Leon. However, to get to the race in time, Tobey has to dodge pursuing cops coast-to-coast, as well as contend with a dangerous bounty that Dino has put out on his car.

With the help of Julia and his loyal crew, Tobey defies odds at every turn in an effort to prove that the underdog can still finish first.

Catch the heart-stopping action and drama when Need for Speed hits local cinemas on April 17.
