Did you know

Bowling got her master’s degree from Thammasat University.

It’s been over three years since she was crowned Miss Thailand, and Prisana Kumpusiri (Bowling) is still as busy as ever. The 28-year-old beauty queen is making the most of her life in showbiz, doing everything from modelling and writing a book to hosting TV shows, not to mention being chosen as Thailand's tourism ambassador. Bowling is also becoming a successful actress in both big-screen movies and TV dramas.

For her latest role as Duenchai in the new soap opera Jao Sao Chapor Kit (Temporary Bride), Bowling plays opposite stars Film Rattapoom, Puri Hiranpruk and Amy Klinpratoom.

Student Weekly recently had a chance to interview Bowling about her latest TV drama and her busy life.

Student Weekly: What have you been doing in the past few years?

Bowling: Since being crowned Miss Thailand in 2012, I’ve done a lot of modelling and acting. I started with the film The 6th Latitude, and the period TV drama The Conqueror of all 10 Directions. Then I signed a contract with RS Channel 8. My latest TV drama is Temporary Bride, which is airing now.

Student Weekly: Why did you decide to become an actor?

Bowling: I got a bachelor’s degree in acting and directing from Srinakharinwirot University, but becoming a professional actor was never my ambition. I thought that being an actor or movie star was a faraway dream, and not everybody can be successful, so I started working as a TV host instead. Then I got offered a movie role after I became Miss Thailand.

Student Weekly: Do you enjoy acting?

Bowling: I’ve loved acting since I was in university, but I was more into stage acting back then. I love theatre, because it’s performing in front of your audience in real time, and you have solve unexpected problems. But now movies and TV dramas are new challenges that I’m very excited about.

Student Weekly: Can you tell us more about Temporary Bride?

Bowling: It’s a story about love between two couples, Film and Amy, and Puri and I. My character is Duenchai, the girlfriend of Poom (Film). She’s a very confident and independent woman. Duenchai studied abroad and comes back to find her boyfriend with another girl, so she starts paying attention to Pathai (Puri), who’s secretly in love with her. The plot may sound serious, but the show is actually very funny.

Student Weekly: What was it like working with Film and Puri?

Bowling: It’s been really great so far. I worked with Film on The Conqueror of all 10 Directions a few years ago, so it’s much easier this time. Film is very nice and easy to work with. He’s hilarious and always makes everybody laugh. I haven’t filmed any scenes with Puri yet.

Student Weekly: What kind of movies do you like to watch?

Bowling: I’m a big fan of action and superhero movies, and I watch all the Marvel movies that come out. I enjoy all types of film, except for horror.

Student Weekly: Do you have any advice for Student Weekly readers who want to become successful?

Bowling: I want to encourage students to follow their dreams. Some of you may still not know what you really want to do in the future, but just do anything that you love. Be confident about yourself, and I promise that you’ll eventually get there if you try hard enough. Good luck!
