Praew’s favourite bands are Lomosonic and Slot Machine.
Last month, movie buffs were stunned when one of Thailand’s most successful movie companies, GTH — which produced blockbuster movies like Pee Mak and Hello Stranger as well as the TV series Hormones — announced the termination of its business, effective at the end of the year.
Before GTH shuts down, fans can see its stars at a sci-fi themed show, Star Theque: GTH 11-year Light Year Concert.
Student Weekly met up with three rising stars from Hormones 3 The Final Season — Narupornkamol Chaisang (Praew),17, Wongravee Nateetorn (Sky),17 and Jirayus Khaobaimai (Rolex),15 — who will be part of the show at Impact Arena on December 19 and 20. The teens told us about their acting and what we can expect from the upcoming show.
Student Weekly: What did acting coaches do to help actors on Hormones 3?
Praew: Our coach always told us to do our homework and to be relaxed while filming. If we memorise our scripts our dialogue will flow. Actors could ask to change some if we felt uncomfortable saying it.
Rolex: To make us close, everybody had to attend acting workshops for three months. One of the techniques was to do an ugly gesture spontaneously. We had to let ourselves go and not think.
Sky: We had to create stories of relationships between our characters because we weren’t in the first two seasons. We helped each other to come up with our stories.
Student Weekly: Do you enjoy working with GTH?
Sky: We don’t feel like employees. The crew takes care of us like we are brothers and sisters.
Student Weekly: What were your first impressions of the others?
Sky: When we first met, I thought Rolex was naïve. Now he’s become playful and likes to tease others. Praew always looks like she’s angry, but she helped me when we acted together.
Rolex: Sky initially looked like a quiet person, but he surprised everybody with his straightforward comments. We became close when we filmed in Japan. He’s a nice person. On set, he was great at expressing his emotions. Praew is sometimes a nice person, but she once threw a bottle of water at me and complained when she was upset.
Praew: Rolex was playful when we met, but he became more mature. I used to fight like cat and dog with him, but now I fight with Sky instead. Sky doesn’t listen to me. On set, he likes to sing. I asked him to be quiet so I could have a nap because I had to be on standby until late, but he sang until I couldn’t sleep. He did it on purpose to tease me.
Student Weekly: How about acting with Sky?
Praew: I acted with him the most. There were a lot of times when we were the only two working, so we chatted a lot.
Student Weekly: What was your reaction when you found out that you had to perform in Star Theque?
Rolex: I thought it was a small event. I didn’t expect it would be held at Impact Arena. But I believe the concert will be great because we will practice.
Praew: I wasn’t confident because my singing isn’t good. But after I’ve been trained, I think I can do it. I feel more relaxed.
Student Weekly: Do you prefer singing or acting?
Rolex: I like them both. Singing and dancing are things that I had never done before.
Sky: I like acting. It’s fun because each character has their own background. We learn how a character feels and we become them. Singing is fun too if I can hit the notes.
Praew: I prefer acting. But the more ability I have, the better it is for my career. If I have to play a singer, I can use my singing skill.
Student Weekly: Have any of you ever sung in public before?
Praew: I was in the chorus at a singing contest in Ratchaburi when I was in Mathayom 1. I was nervous.
Student Weekly: Will you lip sync at the show?
Sky: No. If we lip sync, we aren’t going to learn anything, though audiences may like it and we would probably think that we’re good. If we actually sing, we’ll get experience.
Student Weekly: What can your fans expect from the concert?
Praew: This themed concert has never been created in Thailand before. Concertgoers will feel excited to experience the show. The lighting and sound systems are great. It will be awesome.
