Residents clash with authorities
Din Daeng flat residents’ fresh conflict with authorities over room sizes in their new apartments has led to a new opinion survey aimed at easing their concerns.
The survey was ordered on February 5 by Social Development and Human Security Minister Adul Sangsingkeo, who wants officials to ask residents about the room areas they prefer and how much they would like their rents to be.
Their views will be taken into account to adjust the housing project, Adul said.

Driver hits divers
Krabi police have pressed charges against the driver of a speed boat that struck and severely injured two Russian divers at Maya Bay on Phi Phi Island on February 3.
One victim, whose leg was amputated, was flown to Bangkok for further treatment. The other remained in Krabi Hospital.
Adisorn Denmamood was initially charged with careless driving causing injury, Pol Col Sompong Tiparpakul said, adding he may face additional charges if he and the boat do not have proper licences.

Police arrest expats
Police arrested more than 20 foreigners. It happened in Pattaya on February 4. They were arrested for gambling and fined 5,000 baht each. Police said they were playing bridge.
