SW visits Kalasin

Kalasin is a large northeastern province with a population of around 1 million people. The province boasts a number of tourist destinations and plentiful natural resources.
For this week’s Freeze Frame, SW takes a look at some popular spots in this pretty province.
Thepsuda Bridge is one of the most beautiful spots in Kalasin. The giant bridge is 2,040 metres long. |
Visitors are encouraged to witness a traditional dance performance by the Phu Thai community, an ethnic group who migrated and settled in the area about 200 years ago. |
The sacred Phra That Yakhoo construction is highly respected by locals. A ceremony to pray for good weather is held here annually. |
Renowned for its research on dinosaurs, Sirindhorn Museum in Sahat Sakan district is one of the biggest dinosaur museums in Southeast Asia. |
Built in 1933 by Vietnamese constructors, Udom Pracharat Temple was built with a combination of Vietnamese and Thai styles. |
