Veteran rockers Potato have been absent from the local music scene for a couple of years, but now they’re back with their latest single, “Som Doun (Balance).”
The new song is a fast track that will remind fans of the classic Potato rock hits from the past. Each member of the band gets to show off their talent and skill in the song, especially the guitarist, whose sound symbolises Potato’s signature sound. Interestingly, the guitarist is actually new to the band, but “Balance” still sounds like the Potato that fans know and love.
The only weaknesses with this new single are the lyrics and melody, which are a bit awkward and difficult to remember. As a result, the song may not grab listeners’ attention at first, but after a few listens it starts to sound better.
