Bad garbage

Nowadays I can find a lot of garbage on the grass inside my school campus. Most of the garbage comes from what we eat and do not throw into a dustbin. This is bad behavior of the people who drop garbage where they eat. It's selfish.

I think we should pay more attention to what we do. If we put rubbish into a bin it saves the environment and makes our country better.

Muhammadsuhaimee Hayiweakaji, Pattani.

I completely agree with you! It's very selfish to drop garbage on the ground and just assume that somebody else will tidy it up for you. As another example, I've visited a lot of waterfalls around Thailand and some of them have a lot of litter, especially after busy public holidays.

Luckily there are some people who care about the environment and put all their litter into a bin. — Editor

Dangerous driving

These days a lot of people use their cars for travel. That's why a lot of accidents occur on the roads. Many people die because of accidents and because the drivers are careless or do not follow the traffic laws. Drinking alcohol is also one of the causes.

However, if drivers were more careful and strictly followed the laws we would be safe from accidents. This is how to protect our lives and relatives.

Afiddeen Sama-ae, Pattani

You're right, Afiddeen. Thailand's roads are more dangerous than most countries, and in April the number of deaths from car accidents over Songkran was higher than during the same period last year.

As you say, people need to drive more carefully and make Thai roads safer. — Editor

Broken promise

I'm wondering why an adult doesn't think a promise with a younger person is important. I'm a junior high school student who is a fan of Korean performers and I've always wanted to go to Seoul. I wish I can go and see EXO and Got7.

My mother told me that if I could get a GPA higher than 3.5, she will take me to Seoul. So I studied really hard and I got 3.8 last semester. Everyone was surprised, including me! But my mother didn't keep the promise. She said, "I have to work. I will take you to Seoul later. My work is more important than EXO or Got7." I was mad and sad. I know that her work is important, but what about the promise?

Napim Sinsamut, Bangkok

I'm sorry, Napim, that you didn't get your trip to Seoul yet, but it seems like your mom will keep her promise and still plans to take you as soon as she has time. So look on the bright side — you got a great GPA and have an exciting trip to look forward too! — Editor
