Cool down
Summer is a time that can threaten the health of your pet. Most animals begin to feel uncomfortable in temperatures above 29 degrees Celsius. Pet expert Marc Morrone shares these important tips to make sure your dogs stay happy and healthy during the hot weather.
* Dogs cooling systems are different from ours they can cool off only through panting and sweating a little on the pads of their feet and usually those pads are walking on hot concrete.
* Warning signs of overheating include lots of panting and glazed eyes. Dogs will not want to move when theyre becoming overheated.
* If your dog is overheated, take it to a cool, shady area, give it water to drink and spray it with cool water. If your dog is in really bad shape, take it to a veterinarian right away.
* For a white-haired dog, put sun block on its nose and belly.
