Allie Finkles Rules for Girls: Moving Day is the start of a funny new series from Meg Cabot, the well known author of The Princess Diaries.
The story follows Allie Finkle, a 9-year-old girl who has a hard time when her parents decide to move into a house that looks haunted.
Allie freaks out at the prospect of leaving her pretty pink bedroom, her large rock collection, her best friend Mary and her favourite teacher, Ms Myers.
OFFBEAT RULES
To deal with this dilemma, Allie comes up with a set of wacky rules to live by, such as, dont stick a spatula down your best friends throat and never let your guests starve.
Its always hilarious when Allie presents a new rule, then tries to give a mature and reasonable explanation for it.
A GOOD LAUGH
Allie Finkles Rules is intriguing because of the vivacious, girly characters in the story. Like Mia in The Princess Diaries, Allie is usually charming, but also a bit annoying at times.
This book is easy to read, with simple language and a predictable plot. It is sure to make you laugh, so it is well worth picking up.
