rock might still be the flavour of the month, but Kala manage to stand
out from the pack with their Thai rock style. Minute is Kala�s sixth
album, coming almost two years after their
last.
The band produced every part of their new album � just as they have with their previous efforts. Most of Kala�s new songs feature straightforward melodies and lyrics that are easy to comprehend.
Lead singer Noom is usually in charge of the songs, but this time around, guitarist Toe has taken on most of the responsibility. As a result, the music sounds a little more complicated than before, but Kala�s signature style is still intact.
The tracks on Minute are more optimistic than the broken-hearted songs of their earlier records. The first single, 4 Minutes, has already been well received by their fans.
Kala�s brand of rock continues to progress with every album. In nine years, the band has managed to keep the same lineup and develop their sound.
They may not follow current Emo trends, but Kala are great in their own unique way. � VH
