University Tips is here to help you prepare for the English exams and tests that are coming your way. It gives you practise answering questions similar to those you may have at school and also on the University Entrance Examination.

Read the following announcement from the Bangkok Post. Then, answer the questions that follow.

A group of secondary students from the Demonstration School of Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus, visited the Bangkok Post office during a field trip to the capital.

Founded in 1972, the school is located in Pattani and is known among students and parents in the Deep South as one of the region’s top institutions.

Most of the students, who were in their teens, remembered little of life before the latest round of violence that broke out in 2004. The turmoil and uncertainty has affected their lives, but they told us that they have gotten used to the problems.

The teachers who accompanied them said that in the past, the school had a diversity of children since students from other provinces, such as Chumphon and other upper-South provinces, actively sought to join. But since the insurgency took place, the number of students from provinces other than Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat has drastically decreased.
