The unique and popular duo Scrubb are back with their latest album, Clean. Scrubb started making this album after their successful Scrubb Nude concert, and they invited many musical friends to work with them on the project to make it more colourful than their previous releases.
Guests on the album include the female singer from the young pop band Plastic Plastic, who sings backing vocals and plays on several tracks. The album also features popular acoustic crooner Singto Numchoke.
Album opener “Good Morning” is a sweet, mid-tempo instrumental that seems to be designed to wake up listeners and prepare them to enjoy the rest of the album. The song uses electric guitar for the main melody, and combines it with various instruments normally associated with classical music.
The second track on the album, “Kao Jai (Understand),” is a good example of Scrubb’s signature pop style, with a casual rhythm and sweet melody. The words for this song were written by Golf from Superbaker, making it a little different lyrically from Scrubb’s usual songs.
Clean is overall an album of relaxing and casual sounding pop songs that should please fans of Scrubb. — VH
