Scary spooks hit the Tokyo streets

Shutter, the remake of the hit 2004 Thai thriller of the same name, was directed by Japanese director Masayuki Ochiai and filmed mostly in Tokyo.

The film begins with American fashion photographer Ben (Joshua Jackson) and his new wife, Jane (Rachael Taylor), arriving in Japan for a working honeymoon. While driving on a mountain road, the couple have a car accident, smashing into a girl who seemed to materialise out of nowhere. When they regain consciousness, Ben and Jane cannot find any trace of the girl that they thought they had hit.

Shaken by the accident, the couple arrive in Tokyo where Ben starts working on a fashion shoot, while Jane makes tentative, unsettling forays into the chaotic city streets.

Ben soon discovers mysterious white blurs eerily evocative of a human form that have appeared on all the photos from his expensive fashion shoot. Jane becomes convinced that the blurs are ghostly images of the girl that they hit on the road, who is now seeking vengeance from the couple for leaving her to die.

Experience all the spooky action when Shutter hits theatres on March 20.
