Letter of the week

TEACHER'S NOTE

I am an English teacher. My students are novices.

I try to teach my students as well as possible, but some of them play and do not work in the classroom. I advise them to study and be attentive in the classroom.

Sometimes the students pay attention. Other times they want to play. But I never give up trying to teach them.

Remember that English is important for everybody.

Somboon Rukmueang, Chiang Rai

Thank you for writing in to tell us about your teaching experience, Somboon. It's not too often that I get to hear from readers from the other side of the classroom, but I'm always glad to. Both of my parents were teachers, so I know what a challenging profession it can be. It's a fantastic chance to make a lasting impression on people's lives. Keep up the good work. - Editor

LOVE LETTER

My nickname is Gass, and I study at Sesawechvithaya School.

When I was 8 years old, I had my first love. I saw a pretty girl who was very nice, and I fell in love with her.

At that time, I couldn't be open about my love. It was a top secret, and I was very shy. I sent a love letter to her, and when she opened it, she looked surprised. She read my love letter and didn't know who sent it.

A few days later, she figured out that I sent her the letter. I didn't know who told her. She smiled told me that she already had a boyfriend. I was so sad.

This love story ended unhappily, but now I feel OK. Life has to go on, and we must be patient

Chathawat Changthong, Bangkok

It sounds like you started with romance pretty early, Gass. When I was 8, the only things I was thinking about were candy, toys and monster movies. Love was the furthest thing from my mind. You're a little older now, but you've still got ample time to find the love of your life. Don't rush it. - Editor

TEACHER'S PET

My name is Gail. I am studying at Ubon Ratchathani University. Somebody that I really like is my English teacher.

She works at Pathumrat Pittayakom School and lives in Roi Et province. Her name is Nok. She is an attractive person and a good speaker.

Many students like her English teaching and would like to be like her. If she speaks, everybody will pay attention.

She always takes care of me like a sister. If I have a problem she will give me a good suggestion. And, most importantly, she helps me to develop my English skills and always teaches me to be a good speaker.

As well as being my teacher, she is an important person in my life. I look up to her.

Gail, Ubon Ratchathani

It seems like you've got a pretty wonderful friend, Gail. Finding special people to befriend and look up to is one of the best parts of life - right up there with candy, toys and monster movies. Don't forget to let your friend know how much she's enriched your life and how much you appreciate everything she's done for you. - Editor
