Did you know

Three of the top ten highest-grossing Thai movies were made by GTH.

The movie company GTH and the concert organizer 4Nologue recently teamed up to create an extravagant concert with a ridiculous 50 million baht budget. The sci-fi-themed show, Star Theque GTH 11 Years, will be held on December 19 and 20 at Impact Arena to celebrate GTH’s 11-year anniversary. It will feature performances from more than 50 actors including big names like Sunny Suwanmethanon, Ter Chantavit and Ploy Chermarn alongside rising stars such as Tor Thanapob, March Juthawut and Bank Thiti.

SALES PITCH

To boost ticket sales, GTH held a press conference on October 1 at GMM Live Hall. The MC, DJ Que, interviewed executives from GTH and 4Nologue about how they came up with the idea of the concert. The 4Nologue show director Anuwat Wichiennarat explained how he wanted to do a sci-fi concert featuring GTH actors and the GTH team agreed. After the interview there were exclusive performances from the actors.

HUMBLE STARS

The first song was Lomosonic’s “Tueng Way La (Wake),” sung by a big group of GTH performers. Sunny Suwanmethanon asked everybody to go to the December concert because it will be something that they’ve never done before. He believes that the concert will be good because all the performers have talent.

OFF-KEY OFFERING

The popular young star, Tor Thanapob, was welcomed onstage by screaming fans. However, his solo performance of Five for Fighting's "Superman" was unfortunately off-key. After that, there was a sexy dance song, Bankk Cash’s “Love Me, Touch Me, Kiss Me.” The song was performed by Oab Oabnithi and Ice Preechaya.

K-POP COVER

The fans welcomed actors from the TV series Hormones 3 with wild screams when the boys — Bank Thiti, James Teeradon, Kaopun Teetatch, Pepo Nutchapan, Omp Kanish Pee Sarit and Rolex Jirayus — covered the popular K-pop song, "Overdose," by Exo. The boys had clearly worked very hard to learn the complicated dance routines and Korean language lyrics. James said they were under pressure because they lacked singing and dancing skills, so they had to practise very hard for two months.

HEART WORK

The press conference ended with a great show from the rock band Slot Machine. Before leaving the stage, the performers took turns to ask the fans to join their concert. Bank Thiti said the show at the press conference was just an appetiser, as there will be many actors at the concert who haven’t shown their skills yet. Tor Thanapob said this is the first concert of its kind in Thailand and everybody has put their hearts into it.
