Got7 date their fans

Got7 is currently one of the top K-pop groups among Thai fans. Last year, the guys took Thailand by storm when they visited for the first time. This year, the tickets of their first fan meeting in the Land of Smiles, Got7 1st Fan Party in Bangkok on March 14: White Day First Date, sold out very quickly. Due to the high demand, event organiser 4nalogue decided to add another fan meeting on March 15.

WELCOME HOME

On March 13, the day before meeting their IGot7 fan club, Got7 — leader Im Jae Bum (JB), 21, Mark Tuan, 21, Jackson Wang, 21, Park Jin Young (Jr), 20, Choi Young Jae, 18, Kunpimook Bhuwakul (Bam Bam), 17 and Kim Yu Gyeom, 17 — met with Thai press at Dusit Thani Hotel.

During the press conference, Bam Bam was asked where he would like to take the other group members during their stay in Thailand. The Thai member said that he wanted to take the group to visit the new house that he recently bought for his mom. Bam Bam added that the house was big enough to welcome every member of Got7.

WHITE LIE

The theme of the fan meeting was White Day, which is the day when Korean guys who received gifts on Valentine’s Day give presents back to the girls. MC Que asked the guys how they celebrated previous White Days. JB said that he stayed at home, while Jackson joked that he used to buy chocolate and hide in his locker, then pretend to be surprised when he later opened his locker and found it.

SEXY SINGERS

The press conference became more fun when MC Que asked the guys who the shyest member of the group was. Everybody pointed at Mark except for Jackson, who chose Bam Bam. The Thai member explained that Mark was quiet and usually spent his spare time alone.

The guys were then asked which member was the sexiest. Before the others could respond to the question, Jackson confidently raised his hand, got up from his seat and posed sexily. However, Jr disagreed and asked for a vote, which led to JB being voted the sexiest.

SUPREME STAGING

On March 14, Student Weekly attended the fan meeting at Thunder Dome, which was jam-packed with IGot7 fans. During the two-hour event, the guys sang nine songs including “Stop Stop It,” “Forever Young” and “Girls Girls Girls.” They also played many games with their fans.

The event was great fun, well-organised and a fabulous showcase of Got7’s great singing, dancing and entertaining abilities. The stage production featured flawless lighting and special effects, as well as a great sound system. There were seven screens to highlight each member individually so that the audience could see everything that happened onstage.

INTIMATE GAMES

To get closer to their fans, Got7 played a game of musical chairs with audience members. After that, a few lucky fans were paired with the members of Got7 to decorate cakes for White Day. The guys treated their partners sweetly. Mark put an apron on his lucky partner, while JB held hands with his girl while she helped him to decorate the cake. Other fans in the hall were very jealous, with some girls screaming loudly when the guys interacted with their partners. One girl even shouted that she wanted the activity to end.

THAI TALENT

The highlight of the show was a sexy and hilarious performance by Bam Bam, Jackson and Yu Gyeom. They sang the slow Thai slow song, “Chan Lor Pai (I’m Too Good Looking),” from a famous funny TV commercial. Jackson and Yu Gyeom sang in Thai very clearly, and their special performance received the wildest and craziest screams from the fans.

After the performance, MC Que asked the trio whey they picked that song to sing. Jackson said that Bam Bam told him to do it, while Bam Bam explained that they were incredibly handsome, as the title of the song suggests. However, Yu Gyeom denied this, saying that he only had average looks.

GOT GOAL

The last song that Got7 performed was their dance hit, “A.” MC Que then brought out a cake to surprise Jackson for his upcoming birthday on March 28. Jackson was extremely happy and said that Thai IGot7 was the best of the best.

At the end of the show, Bam Bam said his goal was to diminish the space between the group and their fan club, adding that the overwhelming support from Thai IGot7 encouraged him to keep working on his goal.
