Man caught with dodgy toffees
An American man was recently arrested for allegedly producing and selling chocolate toffees made with marijuana and opium in Chiang Mai.
Robert Wayne Hughes was arrested after police received information that he was selling toffees containing drugs at his restaurant in Muang district.
The Chiang Mai Regional Medical Sciences Centre confirmed the sweets contained illicit ingredients. Police searched Hughes' restaurant and found 13 kilogrammes of cannabis, 5 kilogrammes of raw opium and 100 drug-infused toffees.

Van driver shot at lights
Bangkok police will seek a warrant to arrest a passenger van driver suspected of killing another van driver at Happy Land junction in Bang Kapi district on February 9.
Police said that Veerachai Phraeknanther, 27, was shot by the van driver of another company while waiting for a green light at the junction. The two drivers shared the same route between the Bang Kapi and Ngam Wong Wan branches of The Mall department store.
Police said conflict over the van service or a personal problem might have led to the killing.

Cold kills Tak roses
There will be fewer roses available for this year's Valentine's Day. Cold weather in Tak has reduced the amount of roses. Tak is Thailand's biggest rose-growing area. Rose growers said roses will be more expensive this year.
