Climbers fight to survive

Did you know
There are around 200 frozen dead bodies on Mount Everest.
Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, Everest tells the amazing story — based on real-life events — of a dangerous day on the famous mountain. Two different expeditions are challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest blizzards ever encountered by mankind.
It’s a beautiful sunny morning when Rob Hall (Jason Clarke) and Scott Fischer (Jake Gyllenhaal) lead their teams on a final climb toward the highest point on Earth — the summit of Everest, 29,029 feet (8,848 metres) above sea level.
The teams finally reach the summit and begin the difficult journey down. With little warning, an unexpectedly violent storm blows in with a hurricane’s force, engulfing the adventurers as they are descending the mountain. Trapped with the leaders are climbers Beck Weathers (Josh Brolin) and Doug Hansen (John Hawkes), journalist Jon Krakauer (Michael Kelly) and Guy Cotter (Sam Worthington), a guide who refuses to give up hope.
The climbers face nearly impossible obstacles as the journey becomes a struggle for survival.
Find out who makes it home when Everest opens on September 24.
