Ministry promotes electric buses
The Transport Ministry and relevant agencies will conduct a study on trolleybuses and electric vehicles which are likely to replace the natural gas for vehicle-fuelled (NGV) buses.
Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith said on December 7 that he had ordered the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning to work with the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) to study the pros and cons of trolleybuses and electric vehicles after the government started considering them as alternatives.

Government promotes culture
The Culture Ministry will join over 20 government agencies and the private sector next year in launching a six-year plan to promote "Thainess" among Thai people, officials said on December 7.
"Thai culture should be promoted throughout Asean and the international community so foreigners learn about our cultural heritage," Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat said.
It is hoped the plan will persuade tourists to stay in Thailand longer and discover the country's cultural attractions, which could boost income from tourism.

Businessman gives huge donation
