Woman arrested over fraud

Crime Suppression Division police on May 15 arrested a woman over fraud allegations worth more than 50 million baht.

Sakulsup Khunkanha, 34, a Chon Buri native, was caught in a car park in Bang Khunthian district. She was wanted on an arrest warrant issued on January 14 last year by the Chon Buri court on charges of fraud.

Police said a group of 10 complainants last year asked police to take legal action against the woman and her husband, Mongkol Jittatham, 38.

Website increases safety

The Transport Ministry plans to develop a website that provides road accident records for public buses and vans to help improve safety for passengers, officials said on May 15.

Deputy Transport Minister Omsin Cheevapruek said that the ministry was concerned over the safety of passengers who use public transport. Various measures have been taken over the years to make public transport safer, he added.

The website plan was in response to a request by a consumer watchdog which was worried about passenger safety and driver discipline.

Baan Khru Noi finally closes

Baan Khru Noi charity home officially closed because of financial problems. It happened in Bangkok on May 15. The home took care of about 60 homeless and needy children.
