Fans of Academy Fantasia (AF) are entertained by the singing talent and fun personalities on the show, but they enjoy the chemistry between contestants just as much. To follow the show, True Fantasia has organised the Verr Gin Fin Concert on June 18 at Thunderdome, featuring four of the most popular duos from AF8 to AF12, including Sattaphong Phiangphor (Tao) and Nontanun Anchuleepradit (Kacha) from AF8.
Both Tao and Kacha have been busy, with Tao set to star in the upcoming Thai version of the hit Korean series Princess Hours and Kacha taking a role in the U-Prince show Lovely Geologist.
Student Weekly recently caught up with 26-year-old Tao and 25-year-old Kacha who told us about their friendship, careers and the upcoming shows.
Student Weekly: You’ve known each other for five years. How have you both changed?
Kacha: Tao has grown up a lot. He cares more about the details of his work than he used to. I think he’s more professional.
Tao: Kacha has become a real artist. Now he writes his own songs. I hope that he continues to grow and improve.
Student Weekly: How could your friend improve his character?
Tao: Kacha sometimes lives in a world of his own. I think that’s fine for a musician, but if he wants to be an actor he’ll need to change. He should open up so that he can get close to other actors and perform more naturally.
Kacha: When Tao really likes food, he eats too much. It costs a lot of money, but I’m his best friend so I don’t really mind.
Student Weekly: Kacha, how do you feel about working on the U-Prince TV series?
Kacha: I’d never read any U-Prince books before, but since I got the role in Lovely Geologist, I’ve read the book four times. It’s fun. Readers will already have an idea of the characters in their heads, so I feel under a lot of pressure. But I’ll do my best.
Student Weekly: Tao, how do you feel about your role in Princess Hours?
Tao: It’s such a popular series for fans of Korean TV and I’m really happy to be a part of it. I hope that fans of the original keep an open mind when they see the Thai version. I’ve had to prepare a lot for the role. My character doesn’t talk much. He communicates through body language.
Student Weekly: How would you describe each other’s style of performance?
Tao: Kacha loves slow songs. He’s multitalented and can sing and play instruments onstage.
Kacha: Tao is an entertainer. He’s full of energy and likes to interact with fans.
Student Weekly: What can people expect to see at the Verr Gin Fin concert?
Tao: There’ll be a lot of entertaining performances so even people who don’t know us can enjoy the show. It’ll be fun.
Student Weekly: What’s your current goal?
Kacha: I want to keep improving as a singer.
Tao: I’ll continue to work in acting and music. I’d like to get even better and prove to everybody that I have great performing ability.
