Today is the last day at Ardel�s Third Place Gallery on Sukhumvit 55 to seeScratched the Surface, an exhibition that explores travels in India by renowned photographer Anak Navaraj. The exhibition is open daily from 10 am to 8:30 pm. For more information, call 02 422 2092.

In 1993, rapper Snoop Dogg and his bodyguard McKinley Lee are charged with first-degree murder for the shooting of 22-year-old Philip Woldemariam in Los Angeles. Lee and Dogg claim Woldemariam pulled a gun first and that the shooting was in self-defense.

In 1970 at the Isle of Wright Pop Festival in England, legendary rocker Jimi Hendrix makes his final public appearance.

In 1999, in Seville, Spain, American sprinter Michael Johnson breaks the 400-metre world record with a time of 43.18 seconds.

In 1993, the 570 metre-long Rainbow Bridge connecting Tokyo to the island of Odaiba is completed.

In 2003, Mars makes its closest approach to Earth in nearly 60,000 years, passing at approximately 55.7 million kilometres.

Happy Birthday to American musician, actor and comedian Jack Black (1969).

It�s the last day at H Gallery on Sathon Soi 12 to see Fidelity Not Fealty, an exhibition of sculptures, paintings and installations by Thai artists Sutee Kunavichayanont, Krit Ngamsom and Thakorn Khaosa-ad. The exhibition explores iconography, religion, technology and the art-making processes. The gallery is open Thursday to Saturday from noon to 6 pm. For more information, call 081 310 4428.
