Romance/Drama: I CAPTURE THE CASTLE (October 28, 2004) Set in the 1930s, this is the story of 17-year-old Cassandra Mortmain, an aspiring writer who lives with her sister, Rose, her brother, Thomas, her acclaimed writer of a father and his nudist wife in a crumbling castle in a remote region of England. When the castles rightful heirs arrive in the form of two American brothers, Neil and Simon, and their mother, Cassandras parents see it as a chance to improve the familys fortunes by marrying off the two girls to the two wealthy young men. Cassandra finds herself conflicted, however, when she actually falls in love with Simon, even though hes engaged to Rose. A charming comedy, according to most of the critics.

Sci-fi/Adventure: SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW (October 28, 2004) Famous scientists around the world have mysteriously disappeared and newspaper reporter Polly Perkins (Gwyneth Paltrow) along with ace aviator Sky Captain (Jude Law) are on the investigation. Risking their lives as they travel to exotic places around world, can the fearless duo stop Dr Totenkopf, the evil mastermind behind a plot to destroy the earth? Aided by Franky Cook (Angeline Jolie), commander of an all-female amphibious squadron, and technical genius Dex, Polly and Sky Captain may be our planets only hope. Forget the dodgy title and catch this movie hailed by the critics as a superhero masterpiece.

Documentary: FAHRENHEIT 9/11 (October 28, 2004) A must-see, craftily (rather than randomly) held back by the movie people to coincide with the upcoming US elections. Oscar-winning documentary maker Michael Moore takes us on a journey from the last US elections, which he claims were a fraud, bang up to Iraq and the war on terror. Whatever your views on these subjects, this damning indictment of political manipulation and the influence of corporate culture is a frightening reminder of how democracy can be abused for the good of the few rather than the many. Watch it.

Sci-fi: THE METEOR (October 28, 2004) Heres one to fathom. On the day that three planets align in a straight line, a strange phenomenon occurs over the skies of Earth.

A downpour of meteorites cascades into the Earths atmosphere, with one meteor part of a mystical star, wouldnt you know crashing into an ancient cemetery (wouldnt you know). A pregnant beggar is killed instantly, but not before giving birth to a boy no ordinary boy (of course), but a vengeful psychopathic serial killer. Bizarre murders claim entire villages. There must be someone who has similar supernatural powers equal to the bloodthirsty killer to fight and subdue him. But who is it? Let us know by email as we have no intention of seeing this hotchpotch of hackneyed plotlines.
