Sound Check

Whats spinning this week

Various Artists
Shark Tale Soundtrack
DreamWorks

Cartoons sure have changed since I was a kid. I cant name a single artist from the Bambi album (was there even one?), and while the Jungle Book had a pretty cool sound for a 10 year old, it somehow seems a bit lacking when looking at the star-packed thunder of the Shark Tale Soundtrack. Featuring hip-hop, R&B, reggae and funk from the likes of D12, Ludacris, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Will Smith, Sean Paul and India.Arie, this is one of the best soundtrack albums Ive heard in a long time and it come from a cartoon. If its just to hear Eminems buddies rapping about being fish, this is definitely one to check out. Chris Blake

Various Artists
Sexy Dance
Sony Music BEC TERO

I have to say one thing right off: What a great album title. Though a bit disappointed that the album notes are a bit short on pictures, this album definitely includes some sexy dance music. Kicking things off on the right foot is Ms Tata Young and her Dhoom Dhoom. (Now did she say she was going Indian? I thought I heard inter.) To make sure the sexy dancing doesnt stop, the ladies from Nu Virgos are up next with Stop Stop Stop. (Does anyone else think there must be something in that Russian water.) Also included on the album are Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Beyonce and Mandy Moore. My only real complaint is having Las Ketchup on the album I heard they were waiting for the Silly Dance sequel. Chris Blake
