Ugly ducking
A geeky love story
Reviewed by Suwitcha Chaiyong
There's no
escaping the fact that most soaps nowadays are indeed nam nao
to watch. But what else is there to watch? Almost every channel
you turn to these days with the exception of perhaps Channel 11
is showing the typical soap plot of boy meets girl, fall
in love and get married. Unless you hook up to cable, you're stuck
with a lot of 'soap bubbles'.
This week's soap isn't as generic as all the other soaps.
In Kratai Mai Chan (Rabbit falls to the moon), Instead of
boy meets girl, the girl meets boy, finds it hard to get his
attention, but wins his love in the end. Sorry for giving away the
ending. But was a dead give away anyways, given the fact that most
soap magazines and the entertainment review programmes showing the
pair in an embrace.
Kratai Mai Chan is a story about Kratai played by Jeeranun
Manojem, an unfashionable and clumsy nurse who is head over
heels in love with the perfect guy named Korn played by Anus Laphanit.
Korn is the owner of a modelling agency and he already has the 'perfect
10' (very beautiful) looking girlfriend around his arm. With
the help of the company's partner, Rampai played by Montanee Tantisuk.
Kratai tries very hard to get Korn's attention and to win his heart.
Korn's model girlfriend Jidapa, played by Wipawadee Kassakul steals
the shows with her pure wickedness. Her superb acting
takes away most of the disappointing acting by the show's main character.
If you've missed an episode, which by the way is on channel 7 every
Friday, Saturday and Sunday after the 8:00 pm news, no need to wait.
Just read the story about the ugly duckling instead.
